She has mainly worked in busy small animal first opinion and referral hospital settings, with specific experience in theatre and cardiology nursing. She joined JSVC in 2016 and so has been with Rachel pretty much from the start! We certainly couldn’t do without her and her in depth knowledge.
Kerisa
After a brief stint of wanting to become a sweet tester at the tender age of 10 Kerisa then decided she was going to be a Veterinary Nurse, and here she is! Since qualifying in 1999, Kerisa spent some time in first opinion practice close to her home in North Wales before moving for a few years to London. She then returned back to her local practice where she naturally developed from RVN to Practice Manager. In 2020 she joined the JSVC team part-time and has now progressed to our full-time Practice Manager. Kerisa has 2 boys and 3 dogs, and enjoys the wonderful outdoors.

Liza qualified in 2001 and has spent most of her career in university vet schools working in the surgical, anaesthesia and cardiology departments. She has also gained her Nursing Certificate in Anaesthesia. Liza enjoys lecturing and has published several articles in veterinary journals. She joined JSVC in 2023 and has recently achieved her Certificate in Veterinary Leadership & Management. Outside of work Liza is duly put upon to assume the role of “soccer Mum & taxi” twice weekly at least!

She made a move into referral work 3 years later and spent 8 years in a multi-disciplinary hospital, specialising in surgical nursing. During this time, she became interested in cardiac interventional surgery and enjoyed implanting pacemakers with Rachel and Mandy so much she moved to join JSVC in 2021. At home Rachel is Mum to Myles and British Shorthaired cat, Bella. She has a passion for nature and gets out hiking in the hills as often as she can.

Lys always had a keen interest in cardiology and when the time came to move on from ECC she knew she wanted to pursue that, and she joined JSVC in 2024. Lys has two rescue cats called Tigger and Roo. Roo she hand – reared from a day old when his mum passed away whilst giving birth. Lys also has a 17-year-old ex-show horse called George, whom she bred as well. Outside of work Lys spends her time riding, sailing, making sterling silver jewellery and memorial horsehair jewellery.
Jade
Jade joined JSVC in 2022 as an Animal Care Apprentice and has taken to the veterinary profession like a duck to water, turning her hand to many different roles to support the team. We would certainly struggle without her smiley face about the place! Outside of work Jade enjoys spending time with her family and friends and getting crafty.
